No. 6 – I Am On My Own is a three-channel video project documenting a real chance encounter in the “Devil’s Highway” at the United States and Mexico border. The work confronts the moral, legal and historical complexities of immigration in the Southwestern United States. No. 6 records two artists struggling to help a desperate migrant lost in the Sonora desert. As they drive through checkpoints and past border patrol, a narrative develops, and the migrant explains his purpose for knowingly risking his life in the deadliest region of the continent.
